Is this a real Jacobs by Marc Jacobs tote?

I've seen two kinds of canvas totes from Marc Jacobs, but never one like this, and I'm just wondering if it is legitimate?
I think not but I would LOVE if it were.
My guess is that's its not real. As a basic rule of thumb I do not usually trust a designer piece selling on ebay from hong kong/china in general. There are a LOT of knockoffs of designer goods made in asia and they are often sold on ebay to unsuspecting buyers. So make sure to check feedback and where its being shipped from.
If the authenticity of a designer piece is important, your best bet is to buy straight from the designer, or a trusted seller (like a dept. store). Sometimes on ebay I come across nice designer pieces but it usually because they are used. On rare occassions some people sell pieces they bought but never wore, but be careful because ebay cannot guarantee the authenticity of a piece.
On the upside, the real version of this bag isn't really that expensive. I saw it last year in the Marc Jacobs accessories store in NYC and it was being sold for about $30-40 if I remember correctly. They sell a lot of accessories there that are made with cheaper materials. I don't know if they sell the cheaper accessories in Marc Jacob stores, or if there are any other Marc Jacobs accessories stores other than the one in NYC, but if you're ever in the city, you should stop by. The designs are pretty simple and they have similar styles each year. The store is on Bleeker St. (same area as Magnolia Bakery).
